Basketball . . . And . . . Watching . . .
The Conservative Man (apparently Mista Jimsta has now changed his name) and BBall Wizard are both playing on basketball teams this year. They both had games last night.
BBall Wizard still has NEVER lost a league basketball game IN HIS LIFE. He is an extremely good post player and is playing on a team with a lot of very good players. He hustles after every play and comes home with floor burns and bruises after almost every game. I love to watch his hustle and enthusiasm.
The Conservative Man's team is actually playing in two leagues. Because of his knee surgery and his broken foot last year, he wasn't able to play in one of the leagues because he wasn't registered with them at the beginning of league. He is however still going to those games and watching. The team played in the league he doesn't play in last night. He is an extremely good player. He has a high basketball IQ and can see things develop very quickly. I think he is an excellent point guard, but because he is so much taller than his team mates, he usually is now playing the post.

It's basically just a scam
Many people feel frightened by this whole “global warming” thing. So I looked on the internet and found this great article to show everyone its not the end of the world.
After you read it, come back and read what else I have to say.
http://www.heartland.org/policybot/results/11548/February_2003_Eight_Reasons_Why_Global_Warming_Is_a_Scam.html
To quote Homer Simpson- “Al Gore can’t do anything right.”
I will say this though. I think that we need to try some new energy sources, but we need to ease into them. We also need to take better care of our environment. We can’t keep polluting like we are. (Anyone in Utah probably agrees.) We can carpool, recycle, and ride our bikes. Anyway, don’t feel like it’s the end of the world anytime you here someone take global warming to the extreme.

Obama's (sad) Presidency
Face it, it has been over hyped.
Predictions for Barrack Obama’s failed- (oh, I’m sorry it isn’t over yet) presidency.
One of these three will happen
1. We will be sold to the Russians as slaves.
2. Obama will change the United States of America into... Obamaland. We will become a communist nation.
3. Iraq and Iran will declare a war on us and we won't fight back because we don’t want to hurt the “misguided terrorists.”

I don't actually expect anything like this to happen, but it is almost realistic.

Karaoke
The other day BBall Wizard discovered that we had a game called Karaoke for our Game Cube. We had never played it, and he tried it out. Well. . . .
He loved it. He couldn't stop. He got Mista Jimsta, Ski Mother, and me to play. We spent a whole evening playing. Here are some highlights:

So I'm not on Facebook Anymore
As some of you may have noticed, I shut down my Facebook account. The reason---it was getting too time consuming and Facebook is way too busy. There is too much going on and it's like an octupus. So I will primarily use this blog to communicate. I think that will be better.

I'm Brain Dead!!!
I'm sitting at work trying to get some more billing done. I was up until 2:00 a.m. last night and I feel tired. So for a little respite, I decided to write something new.
What can I say?
Well. . . . I love my wife. I love my kids. I love my family. I wish I were home.
Here's a link to my work blog: theutahemploymentlawyer.blogspot.com.
Sorry to be boring today.

Oops. I forgot to blog.
Okay.
So we blogged for a few weeks and then stopped for a few weeks.
It's not that we didn't have anything to say---It's that we didn't have a whole lot of time.
Here is a quick summary of events since the last blog. We had a lot of fun at Christmas. We visited everybody and tried to do too much.
On New Years, we just basically stayed home. We didn't do much.
Today is Martin Luther King Day---the day before the Inauguration. I am excited in many respects but am bothered in a lot of others. I think it is a wonderful thing that our country has elected a black man to be its president. I am bothered, however, by the underlying presumption that many people in the media seem to have accepted that our country is really in bad shape---that somehow President Bush has destroyed the country. I don't accept that presumption and refuse to be bullied---intellectually or otherwise---into accepting the presumption. I also have fundamental disagreements with the underlying democrat party presumptions. But, hey, my party lost.
I will support the President and am grateful for a country where a peaceful transfer of power is possible. I thank the Founders and our Father in Heaven for that blessing.
And, if no one else will say it, "Thank you, President Bush, for protecting the country and for sacrificing eight years of your life for the country."
